How we help

we care 4 gives disadvantaged children a chance to take roots (see also Motivation) so that they can design their own lives and care for themselves on their own in their adulthood. This is why we are selecting projects which support the children in a sustainable, lasting way and which emphasise formation and the integration into society.

Through the formation the children acquire knowledge. Knowledge is power - the power to take one's life into one's hands and to take an active role in family and society. More knowledge leads to better perspectives to creatively design the own future. This is what we care for.

We exclusively support projects that have been personally visited by members of the board. In doing so, we only collaborate with people on the place who are thoroughly acquainted and familiar with the habits, the culture and the people. The given support is oriented depending on the local needs of the situation and must be as well sustainable as measurable. We lay great emphasis on checking regularly the projects' accountability in order to ensure a correct use of the money.

Development aid does not only mean to supply money or material goods. In our view, helping people to help themselves is the only solution to help the people on a long term. This is why we care 4 always requests of its project participants to contribute to the expenses and thus advocates self-responsibility.
